What happens if we have bad weather and can’t go out of port?
It may happen that in the port the weather will look fine and safe but you will need to understand, ports are usually in an area that is protected by natural barriers like hills or others. And experienced captains will always check their weather programs and listen to forecasts. You need to trust their decisions.
Some captains in situations like this offer a look with the tender boat. They will drive you to the edge of the open sea and you can see for yourself. But only a few will do that.
- So captain’s word is always final!
In case you will encounter a situation where you will be stuck in a port, we or your captain will offer you some activities in the city you are ported. Or in the area surrounded. We will find you something to do. We are prepared for any situation.
Usually you will be ported in the larger towns so options are always on hand.
Also an option is to organize you a transfer and you will meet your gulet in some other port.
Your captain will be on the weather radar all the time and when the opportunity arises you will leave your port and continue with your cruise.
When we do your planning of your gulet cruise route, we keep in mind that some days can be with bad weather. So our route that we will suggest you will have some room for changes on spot if bad weather occurs.
Your captains will have experience with situations where bad weather could be an issue. So usually they already suggest some re-routes to avoid bad weather and still be on course for your planned route.
For bad weather we don’t offer any refunds.
