Which electricity socket can you find on a gulet and is it customer friendly?
Gulets have classic European 24 V / 220 electrical sockets.
There won’t be a problem to plug in your hairdryer, fill your mobile phone, iPods, etc…
But there are some things you need to know while you are cruising on a gulet.
The gulets are not connected to the electric power plant all the time. So try not to use everything at once, be pragmatic.
Keep in mind that better gulets have more generators and are more equipped with power of electricity than others. Some luxury ones have even solar panels or more than just one generator.
When you book your cruise, and you are looking for the perfect gulet for yourself, keep in mind the limitations on this as well.
A/C is an important generator user.
By running the air condition there are some facts that you need to know:
- AC is available in most cases till midnight when it runs on the generator. Some gulets and sailing yachts provide unlimited use of A/C.
- Using the air condition makes noise. especially during the night, some guest might find it disturbing
- In Ports, using an air condition is not a problem, if the port can provide enough voltage. In case that there is not enough voltage provided by port, AC cannot be run on the generator as harbor regulations forbid generator noise during the night.
When the air conditioning is on, the generators are working and anything else plugged in takes the power of generators. But while you are cruising and the A/C is not working feel free to plug in your devices.
So, don’t worry you won’t run out of batteries on your gadgets.
