How much money do we need with us on a gulet cruise?
Gulet cruise expenses depend on what food package you choose and in which country you are sailing.
If you are cruising in Turkey and you have a Full-board package you don’t need any money. You will be provided with everything already on board your gulet. In another aspect cruising in Croatia, half-board is very popular and in this case, you will need some money for the dinners onshore. But keep in mind that the amount of food on your gulet will be large so the dinners outside can be very light.
Also, you have an option to choose dinner onboard your gulet. You can talk to your captain and tell them you wish to have dinner instead of lunch. And if you are a light eater with Half-board you will have plenty of food already on board.
The prices of drinks in the bar of your gulet are usually the same or even cheaper than the prices in the bars onshore.
So, in the end, it really depends which package you take (All-Inclusive, Bar price list, A.P.A.,…etc.).
SO WHAT IS INCLUDED AND NOT INCLUDED:
In general all the main expenses like charter price, beverages, food, port taxes will be determined in the “finalization process”. It also depends what package is possible on your preferred choice of gulet. If you have A.P.A. (Advanced Provisioning Allowance), All Inclusive, Corkage Fee, buying from the ships bar will in the end determine how much money you need to bring with you. And of course your personal choices.
Also tipping in Croatia is not mandatory but is acceptable. Usually, tips are around 5% to 10% but they mainly depend all on your satisfaction. If you are in the end happy with the service you got, it is on you to tip or not.
You can find a nice table of prices in Croatia in general, comparing it to other countries. Follow this link.
So in the end, we advise you to make yourself a personal budget. Some will need only 100€ a week, others will go partying in the famous Carpe Diem and spend there 7.000€ in one night.
It’s really up to you.
