In which currency can we pay on a gulet cruise in Turkey?
In Turkey, they are using Turkish lira.
But as probably everybody knows, Turkish people are very business-oriented. In that regard, they don’t complicate things and will take any payment currency you will offer them. Probably they will use it to make even more money when they convert it to the Turkish lira.
So the payment currency on a gulet cruise in Turkey can be what you will bring with you.
They prefer Turkish lira or EURO but are more freely about it.
Turkish gulets have no option of paying with credit cards or other cards (ATM cards, bank cards, etc.), so you will need to bring some cash if needed (for some gulets).
But usually, you will have everything sorted already in your finalization process and everything will be already paid in the process before.
In case you will need cash, we suggest you convert your home currency in Turkey because you will probably get a better rate. Or you can use ATMs that are easy to find in larger cities and tourist towns.
Here you can find a LINK to currency converter where you can convert all the main currencies to the Turkish lira.
For other activities in Turkey like restaurants, bars, nightclubs, you can pay with debit or credit cards.
But be aware of Turkish passion for bargaining the price. If not, you can easily pay some extra on the standard price. So please be careful.
If you would like some advice you can ask your personal Turkish concierge, Mrs. Feride Karasu. She will be happy to assist you with some advice on Turkish culture on barging.
But if you like to haggle, Turkey is a perfect opportunity for you. Every Turk likes to haggle. You can train your haggling skills everywhere, in restaurants, markets, shops, bars, etc.
Just be sure you don’t end up with an empty wallet at the end of your holidays.
